Terms and Conditions - rEMDR

Effective Date: February 16, 2026

By downloading, installing, or using the "rEMDR" application ("the App") provided by flee flame, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

1. Medical Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: This application is for educational and self-help purposes only. It is NOT a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that should ideally be administered by a certified professional. rEMDR provides bilateral stimulation tools, which are one component of clinical EMDR therapy. It does not replace the full 8-phase EMDR protocol. Using this App does not constitute a doctor-patient or therapist-client relationship.

If you have a history of seizures, severe mental health conditions, or are experiencing a medical emergency, consult a healthcare professional before use. If you are in crisis, please call your local emergency services immediately.

2. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, flee flame grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Download and install the App on devices you own or control
• Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes
• Use the bilateral stimulation tools provided by the App

3. Subscriptions

rEMDR offers both free and optional premium subscription tiers. Feature availability may vary between tiers and may change over time.

Pricing and Billing

• Price: As displayed in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store at the time of purchase
• Payment: Charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account at confirmation of purchase
• Auto-Renewal: Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Renewal Charge: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period

Managing Subscriptions

You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through:

• iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions
• Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions

No Refunds: Payments are non-refundable except where required by law. No refunds will be provided for any unused portion of a subscription period.

Free Trials

If we offer a free trial period, you will be charged the subscription price at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial ends. Once charged, no refunds will be provided for the unused trial period.

Subscription Changes

flee flame reserves the right to modify subscription pricing, features, or terms with advance notice. Price changes will not affect your current subscription period but will apply to subsequent renewal periods. You may cancel before renewal if you do not accept the new pricing.

4. Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App
• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App
• Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without written permission
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its systems
• Share premium subscription access with others or attempt to circumvent payment requirements
• Present the App as a replacement for professional EMDR therapy or medical treatment

5. No Warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. flee flame makes no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Therapeutic or medical effectiveness
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Improvement in mental health or emotional well-being
• Continued availability of premium features

The App is a supplementary self-help tool and should not be relied upon as the sole resource for therapeutic support. Always work with a licensed EMDR therapist for trauma treatment.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, flee flame and its developers shall not be liable for any:

• Direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of data, revenue, or profits
• Damages resulting from use or inability to use the App
• Physical or psychological effects from using bilateral stimulation tools
• Payment processing issues with Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Interruption or termination of premium features

You assume full responsibility for your use of the App and any outcomes thereof. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.

7. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• RevenueCat: For subscription management and premium access verification. Your use of RevenueCat services is subject to their Terms of Service.
• Apple App Store / Google Play Store: For payment processing and subscription management. All purchases are subject to the applicable store's terms and conditions.

flee flame is not responsible for the quality, accuracy, or availability of third-party services.

8. Health and Safety

Before using rEMDR, please be aware:

• Seizure Warning: If you have a history of seizures or photosensitive epilepsy, consult a medical professional before using visual bilateral stimulation features
• Emotional Responses: Bilateral stimulation may bring up strong emotions or memories. If you experience distress, stop the session and contact a mental health professional
• Not Emergency Care: This App is not designed for crisis intervention. If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services
• Professional Guidance: For best results, use under the guidance of a licensed EMDR therapist

9. Disclaimer of Affiliation

rEMDR is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by:

• The EMDR Institute, Inc.
• EMDR International Association (EMDRIA)
• Any EMDR training organization or certification body
• Any healthcare provider or medical institution

"EMDR" refers to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a widely recognized psychotherapy approach. The App provides bilateral stimulation tools inspired by EMDR principles for personal, educational use.

10. Updates and Modifications

flee flame reserves the right to:

• Modify, update, or discontinue the App or any features at any time
• Change session types, stimulation patterns, or settings
• Add or remove features in future updates

Updates may be required to continue using the App. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of any changes.

11. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we handle data.

12. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any term. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and delete it from your devices. Active subscriptions will continue until the end of the current billing period unless cancelled separately through the App Store or Google Play Store.

13. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, graphics, user interface, code, and content, is owned by flee flame and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

"rEMDR" and its logo are trademarks of flee flame.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which flee flame operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting with an updated "Effective Date." Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement
